Compared to other Lygodium species, this one is quite massive. The anastomosting veins are uncommon in the genus. It also seems to prefer denser shade. I found this plant in dense lowland forest, not an edge habitat.

Climbing several meters upon adjacent vegetation. Pinnae to 35 cm long, rhizomes branched, compact, near soil surface.
