Asplenium impressivenium

by | Sep 3, 2019 | Ferns | 0 comments

Asplenium impressivenium is very similar to A. scandens but differs by having sessile pinnae, wider wings along the axes, and thicker ultimate segments.

Asplenium impressivenium exhibits several characters consistent with a hemi-epiphytic habit including a creeping rhizome, and dimorphic roots.  The roots are  either short-clasping and adhere the rhizome to the tree which it climbs, or elongate roots that descend to the ground and connect to the soil.
